Sound Familiar?

The line goes down. Everybody calls you.

You have techs. What you don't have is enough people who can walk up to a dead machine and find the fault without you standing behind them.

"Get the boss."

You're still the one they call

You were promoted to run the department. Instead you're re-explaining the same faults, second-guessing part swaps, and getting pulled off everything else every time something trips.

"Still no qualified applicants."

The job posting has been up for months

The experienced troubleshooters you'd hire already have jobs. More than half of maintenance leaders now say finding qualified candidates is their single biggest staffing problem.

"He's retiring in the spring."

Your best guy is almost gone

Most of what he knows was never written down. When he leaves, it leaves with him, and it usually shows up a year or two later as the breakdowns nobody else can figure out.

Why You Can't Hire Your Way Out

Plants used to build troubleshooters. Then everyone stopped.

A new hire used to work beside someone who knew the equipment until he could find a fault on his own. The plant carried that cost because the plant owned the result.

Then, to cut costs, most plants quit training and started hiring people someone else had trained. It worked, as long as that generation was still around.

They're retiring now, and nobody refilled the pool. That's not a hiring problem you can fix. It's a training problem, and you're the only one in a position to solve it for your plant.

The Theory Trap
What your crew was taught
  • What a relay does
  • What a symbol means
  • How a VFD works in theory
  • Which part to order
What they actually needed
  • Where to start when the line is down
  • What to check, in what order
  • Where to put the meter leads
  • How to prove the fault before swapping parts
Techs stuck in the Theory Trap aren't slow or careless. They were handed parts knowledge and never given a process. So they guess, swap parts, and call you.

How It Works

One process. Every tech learns it the same way.

Five modules, in order, built from real plant floors. Each one builds on the last and ends in the Fault Finder Formula: a step-by-step way to find the fault before anyone touches a part.

Module 1Blueprint Bootcamp

Read and navigate any electrical or pneumatic schematic.

Module 2Meter Mastery

Voltage, current, resistance, and where the leads actually go.

Module 3Rapid Testing: Electrical

Test relays, sensors, switches, and drives. Know good from bad.

Module 4Rapid Testing: Pneumatic

Diagnose valves, cylinders, and air systems quickly.

Module 5Fault Finder Formula

The repeatable process that ties it together on any machine.

End of Month 1
Reads the schematic

For you: they stop asking where to start.

End of Month 2
Finds basic faults alone

For you: fewer calls, fewer parts thrown at problems.

Day 90
Troubleshoots with less supervision

For you: you get your job back.

Why 90 days: many maintenance departments take longer than three months to get a new tech productive. The strongest teams do it inside 90.

The Math

One avoided callout pays for the whole facility.

You're already paying for the skills gap. You're just paying for it in callouts, overtime, and downtime instead of in training.

$5k–50kAll-in cost of one emergency callout on a critical asset, once lost production is counted.
6–10 minOf unplanned downtime in a food plant costs about the same as a full facility license.
$2,485One seat at one three-day instructor-led class. For one technician.
81 minAverage time to repair today, up from 49. Skills gaps are a big part of why.

Built for the Manager

You'll know who's learning. Not just who logged in.

See every tech's progress

Who's moving, who's stuck, and who hasn't started. By shift, by line, by facility.

Certificates for the file

Completion certificates ready for training records, audits, and reviews.

Add techs as you hire

Assign an open seat to a new hire the week they start. Onboard them the same way every time.

No time off the floor

Short lessons on a phone, between jobs or on a slow shift. No travel, no classroom.

JS
Built on a plant floor, not in a classroom

Jordon Schultz walked into food and beverage in 2019 as a field service tech with no controls background. Within six months he was training the maintenance techs.

The process he used to get there, and then teach it, became Fault Fixer. Air Force veteran. 700+ technicians trained since.

Questions Managers Ask

Before you sign off on it

What if I train them and they leave?

Then you've lost one person instead of a whole crew that still can't find a fault. The real risk is keeping the people who can't fix the line. And if a technician leaves, reassign the seat to whoever replaces him.

Do my guys have to leave the floor?

No. It's online and self-paced, in short lessons that work on a phone. No travel, no classroom, no coverage to arrange.

Is this PLC programming?

No. It's troubleshooting: reading schematics, using a meter correctly, testing electrical and pneumatic components, and a repeatable process for finding the fault. It won't teach anyone to write PLC code.

What about electrical safety?

The course covers safe testing practices, but it doesn't replace formal electrical safety training such as NFPA 70E, and it doesn't make anyone a qualified person. Your lockout/tagout and qualification requirements still apply.

Can we pay with a PO or invoice?

Yes, on the Facility License or any order of $1,000 or more. Request an invoice at checkout; access starts when payment arrives.
